Mindful May

Welcome to mindful walking!

Take my hand. We will walk. We will only walk. We will enjoy our walk without thinking of arriving anywhere

~ Thich Nhat Hanh

This week we are going to cultivate awareness of ourselves and the world around us.

There are three different types of mindful walks to play with:

Mindful Walk Bingo

Taking the time to notice what is around us helps to build a sense of belonging. This in turn boosts our mental wellbeing by increasing feelings of security. It also helps us to identify the positives in our lives.

This playful activity can be done in your local area with all the family.

Nature Bathing

Taking a sensory stroll in nature can leave us feeling both calm and connected. Getting away from technology and back to grass roots helps to dissolve stress and anxiety.

This mindful walk can take as long as you like. Take a trip to a national park or have a wander around the back yard. Anywhere as long as it’s green.

Walking Meditation

Meditation can be practiced in many different ways. Movement can provide the stillness required to develop awareness of our body, thoughts and surroundings.

Walking meditation can helps us to feel grounded, calm and balanced in both body and mind.
